The wheel deal

For people living with disabilities that affect their mobility, it’s almost impossible to get around in some communities in the Kasese District of southwestern Uganda. The roads that lead to school, jobs and general self-sufficiency are off limits to those without a means to travel them, making these people “the poorest of the poor.” But, the situation could change: opportunities once beyond the grasp of Ugandans with disabilities are now within reach thanks to a specially designed wheelchair.
