Gender, vulnerability, and violence in urban Pakistan
Pakistan is the most rapidly urbanizing country in South Asia, with its urban population growing 3.3% annually. The country has undergone tremendous shifts in the last half century, and while traditional gender roles are rigid, youth are exposed to new ideas through technology and urbanization.
Research led by the Institute of Business Administration in two cities in Pakistan reveals how changing gender roles, corruption, and infrastructure deficits can combine to fuel conflict.
