TTI Phase 2 Institutional Support: African Heritage Institution
This funding will help strengthen the African Heritage Institution's (AfriHeritage) role as a credible public policy institution in Nigeria by enhancing its ability to provide high-quality, influential, and policy-relevant research.
AfriHeritage is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, incorporated in Nigeria in 2000. It is devoted to economic policy research, and facilitates policy advocacy, training, and networking. It also provides consultancy services to federal and state governments, local and international agencies, and the private sector.
AfriHeritage's principal areas of research include trade, regional integration, macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, public sector economics and management, poverty analysis, income distribution, the labour market, agriculture, and rural development. It receives its funding from the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).
Quality research for policy development
TTI is a multi-funder program dedicated to strengthening independent policy research institutions, or think tanks, in developing countries. The program aims to enhance their ability to provide sound research that informs and influences policy.
This second TTI phase (2014-2019) will fund 43 institutions. This will help them consolidate their role as credible development actors in their countries, and in some cases, regionally and internationally. For AfriHeritage, this project will help enhance its research quality, organizational performance, and policy engagement.
