Economic opportunities for youth empowerment and resilience to violent extremism in Burkina Faso

The overall objective of this project is to propose effective strategies to counter youth engagement in violent extremism in Burkina Faso by developing new knowledge about the connections between economic opportunities and youth resilience to violent extremism.

The project will examine the connections between access to economic opportunities and the resilience of young men and women to violent extremism in Burkina Faso; conduct a critical analysis of the Emergency Plan for the Sahel to determine the effectiveness, degree of inclusion, and impact on youth resilience to violence; and make practical recommendations to improve the effects of youth-oriented economic programs aimed at strengthening their resilience to violent extremism.
